David Scott is the lead structural director with the Laing O’Rourke Engineering Excellence Team where he works with a team of engineers and scientists in the pursuit of innovation and excellence, on a wide range of building, infrastructure and research projects.
He is currently developing several new construction and building solutions for residential, office and hospital buildings in line with of Laing O’Rourke’s agenda of using Design for Manufacture and Assembly DfMA to improve safety, quality and speed of construction.
He has led the structural design of many large and prestigious building projects in the United States and throughout the world. He is now working on a diverse mix of construction projects from Dartford to Hong Kong and Sydney, and is collaborating and innovating with some of the best engineers and architects in the world.
David has led the design on a wide variety of building types from airports, rail, hotels, museums and universities; he is well known for his tall building work.
He is past chairman of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) and he is a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
